The First 3D Printed House in India

3D Printed Home: 3D Printing is a cutting edge manufacturing and construction technology in the present era. This technology directly made a physical objects through a digital 3D model. Nowadays, it is  popularizing in the real estate or construction industry. In this article, I am going to share the very first use case of 3D printing for building a house in India.  Image Credit: tvasta Whats is 3D Printing 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a manufacturing process that creates three-dimensional objects by layering material upon material, following a digital 3D model or design.   This process offers several advantages, including the ability to create complex shapes, customize designs easily, reduce waste, and potentially manufacture objects more efficiently than traditional methods.  Various materials, such as plastics, metals, ceramics, and even biological substances, can be used in 3D printing, depending on the specific technology and applicati...

Making The 3D Printed Logo for Youtube Channel

I have YouTube channel as well, for my channel I decided to make showpiece containing the name of channel. I wanted to place that showpiece on my table while recording the video for my channel. Hence, I came up with an idea to use 3D printing, laser engraving and some electronics items to make this showpiece. In this article, I am explaining the complete fabrication process for making that showpiece.  Part and Components used In this project, following components has been used: PLA Filament (For 3D Printing) Acrylic sheet with engraved channel name LED Strip 5mm DC Jack 12V DC Power source  Glue to assemble the 3D printed parts Soldering iron Computer to design the housing/casing The complete methodology to complete this project  contains - laser engraving, designing, 3D printing, assembling, LED strip installation. Now, I am going to explain each of these steps. Laser Engraving I choose a 150mmX30mmX5mm acrylic sheet strip to engrave the name of my website/ Youtube chan...

Solution of Filament Deflecting Upward on Extrusion

If you are using fused deposition modeling (FDM) or fused filament fabrications (FFF) based 3D printers, then at some point in time, you must have faced or will face that the material being extruded upward direction or filament deflecting upward on extrusion. In this article, we will discuss the reasons and solutions for the material being extruded upward problem. Reason and Solutions for Filament Deflecting or Curling Upward Reason: Partial Blockage in Nozzle You may have a partial blockage if your filament curls up as it exits the nozzle. For instance, if there is a small amount of dirt on one side of the nozzle, the filament can still extrude, but it will curl. Solution Debris on the INSIDE of the nozzle, as opposed to bits on the OUTSIDE, is what causes the filament to deflect. You can clean the exterior as well as you like, but it won't really change much. However, deflection is brought on by a break in the flow. Yes, stuff on the exterior does enable additio...

Best 3D Models on Thingiverses to 3D Print in 2023

Creating physical objects from digital models is now simpler than ever thanks to the popularity of 3D printing and the development of more cheap printers. Thingiverse is one of the most well-known websites for finding 3D printing models. Users can submit, distribute, and download 3D printing files for free on the website Thingiverse. Finding the greatest models might be difficult with so many options available.  In this blog article, we'll look at some of the top 3D models on Thingiverse.  Best 3D Models on Thingiverses One of the biggest and most well-known websites for 3D printing files, Thingiverse offers a huge selection of models. Here are a few illustrations of popular 3D model categories on Thingiverse:  Mechanical parts and gears - Thingiverse has a large selection of mechanical parts, gears, and other mechanical components that can be used to create complex machines and robots. Puzzle and Games - There are a lot of puzzle and game related 3D models on Thingiver...

Free CAD Models and STL Files for 3D Printing in 2023

If you are searching for 3D CAD models or Free STL Files for 3D Printing, Then in this article I am going to share such websites or sources where you can find and download STL files free of cost.    Free CAD Models and STL Files for 3D Printing in 2023 Creating tangible products from digital models is now simpler than ever thanks to the popularity of 3D printing and the development of more cheap printers. The STL (STereoLithography) file format is one of the most widely used file types for 3D printing. A 3D printer can use STL files that contain 3D model data and utilize them to produce Gcode and then actual items.  You might be wondering where to find free STL files if you're new to 3D printing or simply looking for some new projects to print. Thanks to the abundance of websites that provide free STL files for 3D printing, you may download and print a huge selection of models for nothing. We'll look at some of the top websites for free STL files for 3D printing in this b...

Introduction to Additive manufacturing and demonstration of part fabrication

Introduction : Additive Manufacturing  Additive manufacturing uses data computer-aided-design (CAD) software or 3D object scanners to direct hardware to deposit material, layer upon layer, in precise geometric shapes. As its name implies, additive manufacturing adds material to create an object. By contrast, when you create an object by traditional means, it is often necessary to remove material through milling, machining, carving, shaping or other means.  Although the terms "3D printing" and "rapid prototyping" are casually used to discuss additive manufacturing, each process is actually a subset of additive manufacturing.   Additive Manufacturing Processes Binder Jetting   T his technique uses a 3d printing style head moving on x, y and z axes to deposit alternating layers of powdered material and a liquid binder as an adhesive. Directed Energy Deposition  Direct energy deposition additive manufacturing can be used with a wide variety of materials in...

Types of Additive Manufacturing

Additive Manufacturing (AM) is known by various names like - Rapid Prototyping, free form fabrication, 3D printing, digital fabrication, etc. Various AM technologies or 3D printing processes could be classified in three categories based on the form of feed materials used by them:  Liquid based AM Solid based AM Powder based AM Liquid based AM The AM technologies in which input material or feed material is in liquid form, are liquid based 3D printing technology. Example - Stereo-lithography (SLA) , Solid Ground Curing (SGC).   SLA Process (Image Source: laserfocusworld.com ). Solid Ground Curing Process (image Source: hisour.com ).   Solid based AM  In this category feed material is in the solid form. Example - Extrusion based AM or Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) or Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) , Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM).    Fused Filament Fabrication process ( Dolores R Serrano et al .) .   Laminated Object Manufacturing ...

What is 3D Printing or Additive Manufacturing ?

Additive Manufacturing (AM) / 3D Printing A manufacturing process in which part is fabricated by depositing material in layer over layer fashion using a digital data (3D CAD model of part). This process is called additive manufacturing. Layer by layer deposition of material   Conversion of digital data (virtual model) to real-world product Other Names of Additive Manufacturing Rapid Prototyping (RP) Layered Manufacturing 3D Printing Free-form Fabrication Process of AM / 3D Printing This complete process could be divided in four phases: Designing or Modeling Process Planning Actual Fabrication Post Processing Various Tools used in 3D Printing In all the above four phases, various tool are used according to need.  Design and Modeling CAD Softwares: Solidworks , Pro-e , etc. Process Planning  Cura , Slic3r , KISSlicer , etc.  Actual Fabrication Any AM or 3D Printing System Post Processing Laser Finishing, Chemical Treatment, Machining, etc.
